House Passes Steube Amendment with Bipartisan Support to Prohibit ICE from Paying the VA to Process Illegal Migrants’ Medical Claims
WASHINGTON –The U.S. House of Representatives voted decisively in favor of an amendment introduced by U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.).Amendment No. 57 toH.R. 8752Department ofHomeland Security Appropriations Act of 2025prohibits Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) funds from being used to compensate the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for processing medical claims for illegal immigrants inICEcustody. The final vote was 235-176, including 27 members of the Democrat party voting in favor.
