CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Deputies with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to various calls on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Here is a snapshot of their calls for service.
3:48 AM | YOCTANGEE PKWY, CHILLICOTHE Assault On 06/05/2024, Sgt. Riege was dispatched to the dog park near High St BP gas station. Caller advised that she was assaulted while at her homeless camp back off the bike path. Caller had redness to her nose, which she stated was from being struck by an elbow. Investigation started.
4:47 AM | SR 159 Speed Limits – Assured Clear Distance I came upon an accident at the off-ramp of US Hwy 23 and St. Rt. 159. The driver of Unit #1 was identified as Robert Shuppert, and the driver of Unit #2 was identified as Colin Walker. Both stated that they were driving northbound on US Hwy 23 coming down the hill before the exit to St. Rt. 159. Robert stated that he was behind a semi in the right lane when Colin came up behind him and struck his car in the rear. Colin stated that he was traveling down US Hwy 23 when he came up behind Robert and hit Robert’s car in the rear. Both stated that they pulled down and stopped on St. Rt. 159 to get their vehicles off the highway and wait for law enforcement. Colin Walker is at fault in the accident for Assure Clear Distance Ahead in violation of ORC 4511.21A. There is no Body Camera as I was on my way to work when I came upon the accident and had not yet retrieved my body camera.
8:26 AM | BAINBRIDGE Craig Stephens reports that his Assurance wireless cell phone package may have been stolen from his mailbox.
10:02 AM | PROFESSIONAL DR, CHILLICOTHE Vandalism On 06/05/2024, I, Deputy Stanley, was dispatched to Professional Drive in reference to vandalism.
10:55 AM | SNYDER RD, KINGSTON Sexual Imposition – Offensive Contact On 06/05/2024, a victim came to the Ross County Law Complex in Ross County, Ohio, to meet with me in reference to a possible complaint. The victim stated that when she was 11 years old, she was at her babysitter’s home and was touched by an adult male. A report was taken for this complaint.
10:58 AM | BLAIN HWY, CHILLICOTHE Non Criminal On 06/05/2024, I, Deputy Stanley, was dispatched to the Huntington Township Fire Department in reference to a threats complaint.
11:21 AM | ELAM RD, CHILLICOTHE Ciera Shay Barnett reports that she believes that she may have been requested to assist with a re-shipping scam.
2:49 PM | W MAIN ST, BAINBRIDGE Criminal Trespass – Land Premises of Another; Warrant On 06/05/2024, I, Deputy Stanley, was dispatched to Main Street, Bainbridge, Ross County, in reference to a trespass.
3:20 PM Improper Pass To Right On 06/05/2024, I, Deputy Stanley, was patrolling the area of US-50 near Blain Highway in Ross County. I conducted a traffic stop and issued a citation for passing on the shoulder of the road.
3:55 PM | YELLOWBUD RD, CHILLICOTHE Violate Protection Order or Consent Agreement – Approved Pursuit to 2919.26 or 3113.31 On 06/05/2024, Dep. Hempstead was dispatched to a residence on Yellowbud Road in reference to a vehicle blocking an alley. An investigation was conducted.
6:08 PM | SCOTT RD, FRANKFORT Non Criminal On 06/05/2024, Deputy O’Bomsawin was dispatched to a residence on Scott Road in reference to a disorderly. Prior to arrival, Dispatch advised Deputies to make contact with the complainant at the Farmer’s Market on US 50, which they did. Upon arrival, Deputy O’Bomsawin made contact with the complainant, who stated that her parents would not allow her to gather her belongings from her house.
6:30 PM | RENICK LN, CHILLICOTHE Criminal Mischief – Move, Deface, Tamper, Etc. Property of Another; Criminal Trespass On 06/05/2024, Deputy Johansen and Deputy Rush responded to a criminal mischief complaint at 478 Renick Lane.
7:01 PM | ANDERSON STATION RD, CHILLICOTHE Endangering Children On 06/05/2024, Deputies Rush and Johansen responded to a Suspicious Vehicle complaint on Anderson Station Rd located in Ross County, Ohio. Investigation started.
7:07 PM | WESTERN AVE, CHILLICOTHE Non Criminal On 06/05/2024, Deputies Rush and Johansen were dispatched to Western Ave located in Ross County, Ohio for a possible disorderly. Investigation started.
8:25 PM | WESTFALL RD, FRANKFORT Criminal Trespass – Land Premises of Another On 06/05/2024, Dep. Hempstead was dispatched to a residence on Westfall Road in reference to a trespass complaint. An investigation was conducted.
9:43 PM | HALLSVILLE PIKE, KINGSTON Disorderly Conduct – Intoxicated Create Risk of Harm On 06/05/2024, Deputy O’Bomsawin was dispatched to a residence on Hallsville Pike in reference to a possible overdose. Upon arrival, Deputy O’Bomsawin made contact with the EMS members and the female patient, who was in the squad.
10:22 PM | EASTERN AVE, CHILLICOTHE Drug Overdose; Disorderly Conduct – Intoxicated Create Risk of Harm On 06/05/2024, I, Deputy Rush, was dispatched to Eastern Ave located in Ross County, Ohio, for an unconscious female. Investigation started.
