Hiya, can someone help me figure out what's best to do for full head grey. I've not used igora before. I am due to cover a client who has full head grey. She is happy to fall anywhere between a 8 or 9. I did a strand test using 1:1:1 of 9-0,9-4 and 20 vol, left for 45 mins. But it didn't take at all. I'm thinking of just doing 9-0 with equal parts 30 vol for 45 mins. Should this cover? I was always trained with fudge head paint that 10-20vol is enough to cover grey

That's what I'm thinking has been the problem. Some web pages are saying to use 40 vol but again im wary of going that high as her hair is thin and I don't want to damage it.

When I read the color book, it said it was not intended for 100% grey coverage. I've had several clients also say it 'peels off' (fades) their grey. I'm really wanting to see what everyone recommends! Such a neat technology for a color.

Oh no lol, when I looked at the colour book in capital im sure it said grey coverage... I have ordered a shade guide but dont have it yet to refer back to. Think ill just try 9.0 with 30 vol as suggested n see how it goes. I didn't know they had tech support so thanks for that!! X

Are we talking about the 10 minute color for grey coverage? It will cover grey, just not people who have 100% grey hair with no pigmented hair. That's what I meant. Sorry! Lol

I've only tried it 2x. It's ok, nothing like KP. A girl in my salon loves it, but she is more worried about speed that quality.

When using Igora Royal. If the client has resistant grey hair. You can pre-soften with 20vols.
Only use 8-00 or less.
9-0 won't cover grey 100% It will only look translucent.
If you are still having probelms, then try Igora Royal Absolutes. This is designed to cover grey hair without using any natural base color. You must use 30 vols peroxide with the Absolutes range.

No no it's not the 10min one, its the 9-0 naturals, checked on the website n it says the naturals offer 100% grey coverage....so in hoping its the fact I've used a 20vol developer. Will try it tonight with 30 vol and just use 9-0 and leave mixing it with 9-4, will pre soften also with 20. Thanks for all the advice! xx

Sorry. Igora Color 10 was not what I was talking about. I was talking about Igora Absolutes.
But if using ordinary Igora Royal, they say for it to cover 100% grey/white, its best to use a base 8 or lower.
Stubborn/resistant, you can use the double 8-00
Use your 9-0 if you like, but the result will be translucent like I already mentioned.
Good luck.
