Kale + 10 minutes..What's not to love?

Hey Guys! And Happy Monday to you all and I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

It was pretty interesting around here as we just saw our first snow fall of the year and it's March.

That's really not unusual around here...living in the great state of North Carolina it's what we're used to. Well except for the eighty degree weather we were experiencing in February.

And with that being slightly different I had to wonder what March was going bring us.

Sowith the light dusting we got it was pretty enough to remind me it's still officially Winter..which is Okay since I really do appreciate the changing of seasons.

Can you freeze these if you made a whole lot?

Hi Sherri, I haven't tested freezing these but I think that would work okay! Let me know if you give it a try!

After making some kale chips which is a huge waste of time for no more than you get, I thought of this idea in my head. And then I see that you already had the recipe tested! Exactly how I was going to do it. No wasting of the kale stems! I used previously grated cheese. I have made cheese chips often, and that’s a timesaver. Next time I’m going to make these using sliced cheese, maybe cut them into quarters. Good quality sliced cheese though. I used a cupcake pan! Keeps them uniform!

Can you make them in a dehydrator?

    • Stephanie

Hi Dee, I haven't personally tested the recipe in a dehydrator, so I can't say for sure. But I think it would work fine. Let me know if you try it!

I made these yesterday and they are delicious!! However, they are not very crispy...still tasty, but not crispy - any ideas on how to crisp them up?

    Reply

    • Stephanie

You can try cooking them a little longer at a lower temperature and see if that crisps them up some. When you originally made them did you make sure they were thin flat circles? Also the the type of cheese you used could make a difference. Did you use already shredded cheese or grate it yourself? Let me know how if this helps.

What's the proper storage for any extra?

    Reply

    • Stephanie

I usually keep any extras in a large zip lock bag in the fridge. But any covered container would work. Keeping them in the fridge just extends the life even though they don't last that long at my house 🙂
