Helen Moon, MD, shares how oncologists at Kaiser Permanente provide care for their patients while leading cancer clinical trials.

Exploring therapies with clinical trials research

At Kaiser Permanente, clinical trials play a vital role in advancing cancer treatment 3. We’re one of only 46 National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) sites that take part in clinical trials and research studies with the National Cancer Institute 4, Research trials help our doctors explore and test new cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, medication, surgery, and radiation, as well as prevention, screening, and managing symptoms. Your doctor will review your electronic health record and treatment history to see if there’s a trial that’s right for you.

Support services and resources

Throughout your treatment and recovery, your doctor and care team can connect you to healthy living and mental health support services. Whether you need tools for self-care or clinical support, we're committed to caring for the whole you — body, mind, and spirit.
